This program allows for electric service to be continued for up to 30 days for any qualifying customer whose disconnection would cause a medical emergency.
Eligible customers include those with qualified serious medical conditions who are in danger of disconnection for non-payment or have been disconnected for non-payment within the last 30 days. Serious medical conditions are those where a physician certifies that the loss of utility service will gravely impair health for older adults or infant children under the age of 12 months.
The certificate may be renewed one time for up to an additional 30 days if the renewal occurs before the initial 30-day period expires. Customers will be sent a dated renewal letter that must be returned on or before that date to recertify.
To receive this benefit, the customer must provide medical documentation from a physician.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development offers a variety of programs and resources to help residents find safe, affordable, energy-efficient housing.

This option is intended to protect customers whose electric service is included with their rental payment. The agreement protects the tenant from disconnection if the landlord is subject to disconnection due to nonpayment. While Entergy will make various attempts to contact accountholders identified as landlords in the event of non-payment, you have options if contact cannot be made. With an identified landlord and tenant agreement in place, Entergy Arkansas will allow you to apply for service in your own name if separate metering is feasible.
This residential reduced rate provision is for customers who use electric service for only basic, essential services. Basic service is defined as annual electricity consumption of no more than 6,000 kwh or an average of 500 kwh per month. Also, the customer’s maximum summer consumption cannot be more than 1.2 times their maximum winter month’s consumption.
This program is available to residential customers ages 65 or older and customers with severe mental or physical impairments that substantially limit their ability to manage their energy costs. For qualified customers registered with this status, Entergy Arkansas will attempt to make personal contact and explain payment and assistance options in an attempt to avoid service disconnection.
Through the Internal Revenue Service Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, Entergy’s certified volunteers work alongside community partners to help qualifying families file their taxes for free. If your household earned less than $64,000 last year, you likely qualify.
